France Walking & Trekking Holidays

The rugged mountains of the Pyrenees stretch from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, forming the border between Spain and France. Both cultures meet and blend in the valleys between the gorges and glaciated peaks, creating a unique trekking environment, often quieter than the Alps.

Why The Pyrenees?

Stretching from the Atlantic Coast to the Mediterranean, the Pyrenees form a natural border between France and Spain. They are a mountain range renowned for their mixed limestone and granite geology, rugged peaks, deep canyons and almost endless opportunities for activities and exploration.
Except for a couple of hot spots, they remain wonderfully secluded. As well as the breathtaking scenery, the Pyrenees offer a wonderful chance to see the diversity of the French and Spanish people, with strong influences of the Basque in the West and Catalan in the East.

Why Exodus?

Our home in the Pyrenees is the French spa town of Luchon, and our liaison with the area goes back more than 15 years. Whatever the time of year, we know how to get the best out of this fabulous area. The summer walking season lasts from late May, the perfect time to see the famous spring flowers, and runs through high summer to mid-October when the oak and beech forests produce fabulous autumn colours. In winter we offer the chance to explore the snow-covered hills on snowshoes, before returning to La Feniere for tea and cakes in the cosy lounge, warmed by a wood-fire.

We also offer winter snowshoeing trips to the Pyrenees
