South Africa Walking & Trekking Holidays

Some views are instantly recognisable. Table Mountain towering over Cape Town is one such view. The flat topped mountain has a whole ecosystem to itself with more endemic species of plants than the whole United Kingdom. Heading east one eventually arrives at another symbolic mountain – the Drakensberg. Meaning Dragon’s Mountain, this range made up of rugged peaks and high plateaus form the backdrop for some of the country’s best hiking. Though the country also offers forests, savannah and even arid lands to explore on foot. Going out on foot looking for game, including big cats, is certainly a memorable experience.
