Winter Activity Holidays in Germany

Germany is famous for the big ski resorts in the South-East, such a Garmisch-Partenkirchen or Oberstdorf, but Bavaria has much more to offer.

The pretty town of Oberammergau boasts a fantastic network of cross-country skiing tracks for both classic and skate techniques. As the location of one of Europe’s biggest races, it also offers all the facilities and services desired by keen skiers.

The snow can lie from December to mid-March in this region, with fresh snowfalls at any time.. The average daytime temperatures in winter usually vary between -5ºC and 0ºC, though they can fall as low as -15ºC. However, February and March often see periods of clear bright weather and it can become surprisingly warm in the sun.

Combine all this with Bavarian hospitality and delicious food and you have the perfect setting for a week of skiing!
