Winter Activity Holidays in Southern Norway
The mountain areas of southern Norway are a playground for all types of winter sports. The most popular is cross-country skiing, as the rolling hills and wild fells cater for all levels from beginner to advanced. Our mountain bases are three to four hours away from Oslo, right on the edge of this incredible wilderness. Many of our featured hotels are 'High Mountain hotels' with excellent access to remote terrain. We offer a variety of grades so you can explore undulating track as a beginner or intermediate skiier and then possibly the most impressive off-track in Europe for the more advanced.
Temperatures & daylight hours
At about the same latitude as Shetland, but over 400 miles south of the Arctic Circle, Norway does of course have cold winters, and temperatures around or below freezing lead to excellent snow conditions. Even in midwinter there are still more than enough daylight hours to enjoy our activities, and daytime temperatures rarely fall below -10°C. We suggest you check our Trip Notes for your chosen destination or our latest snow report.
