Winter Activity Holidays
Our winter activity holiday programme is simple. It’s all about seeking out alternative ways to have fun in unspoilt holiday locations, so you won’t find standard skiing holidays or snowboarding breaks here. We escape the crowds rather than join them. The result is a fresh range of winter activities from snowshoeing to snowmobiling and dogsledding to cross-country skiing. If you really are looking for something different then you have just found it!
What the experts say...
'Something I have learned since retiring from the World Cup ski circuit is that there is more to the mountains than just Alpine Skiing, and there are plenty of alternative ways to capture the beauty and spirit of the winter wilderness.
If you are happy visiting resorts that could be Fulham des Alpes fine, but you could find that the remoter regions and smaller unspoilt villages have much more to offer.
I love the wide range of winter activities available through Exodus and encourage anyone who loves the snow to find something really different to do this winter.'
Graham Bell, presenter of BBC TV's ‘Ski Sunday’
Get ready for Winter
Exodus leader Eric Woolley has put together a guide to some simple exercises you can do in preparation for your trip, which are particularly good prior to cross-country skiing. While you do not need to be super fit for cross-country, a few simple moves for 10 minutes a night can go a long way towards reducing aching muscles during the first few days of your trip.
The key is to build up your strength, stamina and balancing skills and improve your flexibility. Download the flyer to see the diagrams of Eric's exercises and for some winter holiday ideas for the forthcoming winter season (this document version contains hyperlinks to our Winter holidays).
