CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: TRINS & THE THREE VALLEYS

This was my first time to do a full week of cross country skiing and it was brilliant for a beginner, with loads of different tracks to try. And the multi grade meant my much more experienced friend could go with the Grade 2s and we could get back together at the end of the day, which worked really well.

Very well organised on the ground. Leader provided both thorough nuts and bolts information but was generally informative about the area which was bonus.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: TRINS & THE THREE VALLEYS

We loved this holiday, as soon as we got back we just wanted to go back again. We went from not being able to put skis on to skiing 10 miles on the last day. The hotel is lovely with a fantastic bar and everything is reasonably priced (ski hire 8 euro/day). Plenty of euros left over for apres ski. The skiing is in lots of different areas and makes use of local transport though if you book as an independent, Bob will help sort out the buses for you.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: TRINS & THE THREE VALLEYS

This was my first cross-country skiing trip so I went in a Grade 1 group. By the end of the week we managed to ski around 15km in a day, and also successfully tackled some fairly challenging routes at Maria Waldrast. I thoroughly enjoyed the week.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: TRINS & THE THREE VALLEYS

I had never skied before and was pleasantly surprised that I was shown how to put the skies on and given sufficient training by the instructor Barbara (superwoman/wonderwoman) to ski alongside other beginners who had skied before.  Barbara was always helpful and on hand to advise us on all things as they cropped up.  The warm ups before activities were useful in getting us warm therefore avoiding any sprains (thank you Barbara). As well as the skiing lunch in the various cafés/restaurants were superb (gave me something to look forward to each morning).  The food was of excellent quality and reasonably priced.  If you wanted to budget you could spend as little as 3 to 5 Euros on lunch (i like my food so it was nice to refuel ready for the afternoon skiing).  The hotel food was equally wonderful and the bar inexpensive compared to a pub in the UK. Would I go again, YES, I miss it already!!!

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: TRINS & THE THREE VALLEYS

We had been warned the week before departure that nature was not going to be very kind to us for our week, but in the end we were delighted to enjoy a full six days of excellent skiing from Trins. It was great to return there after our first trip as complete novices in 2004, especially as "Uncle" Bob (Mason) was there to welcome us back.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: TRINS & THE THREE VALLEYS

A well organised holiday with an excellant range of cross coutnry skiing opportunites.   The valleys we visited were peaceful and quiet and we met very few other skiers.   At the end of one valley a local framer puts in loipe just for the exodus groups.   The hotel is friendly and comfortable with good food - the vegetarian diet I had was good although nothing outstanding.   Breakfasts were quite substantial with healthy options.
