Mountains of the Moon

Up early this morning, and boy was it ewarly. 4.10 am Stefan and woke, the site was quiet and very peaceful. Creeping across camp with just our head torches was a challenge, but soon our peripheral vision became accustomed to the dark and we soon made our way to the gate where we were being collected by Nicholas.

Who's out there

Am booked on the Cuba trip starting 20th March 2011, & am really looking forward to it, particularly on a day like this when it's cold, grey & miserable here!  Would like to make contact with fellow travellers before we leave: so if you read this, get in touch.

Safari - Masi Mara

Into the truck we climbed - the group split into the buses that we travelled in, and off we went. What a sight behold us, many buses with roof rising waiting in line to enter the gates.

Once through, we first came across the Masi wildebeast, these guys stay put -as these ones don't follow the migration - apparently 'no passports'!

Into Kenya

Left Jinja - Uganda and the source of the Nile on 13 January to enter Kenya. Needed to get visa's for crossing, this was built up to be a major problem by the tour guide, but actually it was relatively smooth and reasonably quick. Passing our dollars over with completed forms, photos taken by the custom personel, we were ready to carry on. For the whole group it took about 45mins.
