We have arrived in Ganste. We drove over three high passes. Kamba La and then Kara La 5010km then Simi La. The whole day was fabulous. We have just had dinner - vegtable curry - and now it't bedtime. Tomorrow we are oin to Shitgase. Everything is going really well. love mum sue. No walking today only for 1 hour this evening....

Friday already. We went to the Potala Palace yesterday. Thirteen storeys and 1000 rooms. It was a long climb to the top and we started at the top!! It is the Dahli Llama's palace although he is exiled to India now. After we went to the most important Buddist  temple here in Lhasa. In the evening we went to a steak house but a yak steak house. Arrived in Lhasa Tuesday. Now at 3600m. All is well except for a slight sickness Wednesday morning but soon cleared up after some chinese tea! The trip is going very well. Action packed. The highest we have been so far is 3900m when we visited a temple near Dandang where we spent Tuesday night. The food is delicious. Very varied. I arrived ok.

all is well. It is very hot here. We have been sightseeing today. Some temples. Yesterday evening we all went to a local nepalese restaurant. Tonight we will do the same. Tomorrow we fly toTibet, lhasa. My room mate is good company - my age. phew!! A really great mixed group. I have never seen so much chaos. Photos are going well. love you all Mum, Sue xx
