Why Blog?

Welcome to the Exodus Blog – a brand new addition to our website where you can share your amazing travel experiences with the Exodus Community.

Like adventure holidays, travel blogs can come in all shapes and sizes and can be a great source of information and inspiration. Whether you are new to adventure travel or a veteran adrenaline junkie, there’s so much you could be blogging about.

You can write about an entire holiday, a favourite destination, or maybe you’d prefer to share just one of your most inspirational travel moments... it’s completely up to you. You can also upload photos to your blog and post comments on other blog entries.

Just click on the Post Blog link to start your Exodus blogging adventure. We can’t wait to start reading about your globetrotting escapades! (Note: Please do not copy and paste from other software programs into your Blog Post, type in the Blog Post text editor, otherwise your formatting will cause issues, many thanks - the Exodus Web Team).

If you’re interested in meeting your fellow travellers online before you depart or if you’d like advice from the Exodus community about your trip, go to the Departure Lounge and post a message in our forum.

hard beds, strong winds and undulating - feel the burn

second day cycling (day 4 of the tour)

Exodus we all have to tell you: you need to do better on the second hotel! Beds were superfluous as they were so hard we may have well slept on the floor. This after the first day of riding 90k so sore and still jetlagged was unwelcome.

At least the day went better from there!!! On the upside the weather was overcast and quite fresh which we all welcomed in place of the high heat and humidity we feared. On the downside we had cross winds ...

A view from the boundry

In India on Wednesday there is the small matter of a cricket game. Some are saying it is literally a matter of life or death and that it will affect millions of people. They are right; at mid-day the coin will be tossed to decide who will try to defend India's history and heritage. The marquis is up, the menu completed, the Singha chilled. Our first stop at a buddhist temple with an good intro by our main guide 'Al' i...

Nautical Views: dispatches from Antarctica

Ship's log: 13 March 2011 - We ended with a pot of gold

On February 27 over a hundred people boarded the gently angled gangway of the Akademic Ioffe. Despite the acres of digested prose there was still a semblance of trepidation and palpable powerful portents of delicious, delectable, dramatic dramas ahead. Conversation with new neighbours was stilted, anxiety mixed with impatience ? for many this patient pilgrimage has lasted years not months.

Nautical Views: dispatches from Antarctica

Ship's log: 10 March 2011 - Tomorrow we will sight land

It is imperative that this dubious literary bolt is not fired early; some adjectival powder must be kept dry for the Nautical finale tomorrow night. Today, however has not been without incident. The Drake rumbled beneath the hull, rogue waves crashing into the sealed superstructure. This is the most fickle stretch of water on the planet and as waves mounted the bow it was sobering to think that the Drake was still not real...
