The adjective 'original' seldom goes with the Taj Mahal, perhaps the most photographed building on the planet. It may even be dangerous to apply it here, but this is a stunning photo whatever the criteria. This shows craft and guile, it also flatters an already beautiful building. More often than not when photographing this Hindu icon one looks for some appropriately dressed foreground but inevitably one ends up with a mess of sarongs and saris. Here the mist - pleasingly symmetrical - does away with this hackneyed nonsense and wonderfully elevates the structure onto a shimmering, nebulous platform. The colours and exposure are also spot on. This was a winner from the moment this talented photographer pressed the shutter.
