Landscape photography is very hard to promote above the ‘chocolate box’ category. Not in this case. The composition is immaculate, the choice of portrait is compelling and vital and the colours spot on. It is a very good photograph, but the acid test is does it make me want to be there? You bet it does, right now, ash cloud or not.
