The ancient baobab boulevards are by no means virginal in terms of photography. I’ve seen them at sunrise, sunset, with startling blue skies and with about 40 tourists shooting them.
This however is serene. Immaculately proportioned, with perfect foreground and exactly the right colours on the local garments. It does not feel staged, it is taken at precisely the right time of day, employs the diagonal to perfection and thankfully has some wispy clouds which are highlighted by the superb use of a wide-angle.
