“It is always easy to criticise and if I was nit-picking I would say the top is cut off a little but this dazzling shot speaks of graft and sweat: critical characteristics of any good wilderness shot. Do I want to be there? Yes. Would it scare one or two off? Yes, almost certainly. This is a good thing though, nothing wrong with a bit of machismo in photographs. Also it is topical this month as Volcanoes, last year ‘s pests, are now very 2012!”
