Cambodia holidays from Exodus. Home to a lost civilisation, the magnificent temple complex at Angkor, the world’s largest religious construction in stone, stands testament to the former power of the Khmer empire. The amazing temples and statues are in a constant struggle with the surrounding jungle. The Ta Prohom temple exemplifies this with large trees embedding themselves in the stone foundations of the structure. Travel in Cambodia is very diverse: the capital, Phnom Penh, offers visits to the infamous ‘killing fields’ and genocide museum, a moving and unforgettable experience, as well as the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda. There is a “beach resort” at Sihanoukville, but for many the highlights of any tour to Cambodia are the people, incredibly hospitable despite their terrible past, and the food.
