Home to the world-famous terracotta warriors, Xi'an is also a fascinating city in its own right. Once the capital of China, and surrounded by immese walls which still stand, it was, during the Tang Dynasty (618AD onwards), the largest city in the world, and the starting point of the Silk Route to the west. Filled with pagodas, mosques and palaces, it was a great cultural centre , and in spite of recent growth, there's much left to see.

Exodus has been operating trips to China since 1990 and has a long history with a country now much in need of international help due to the recent terrible earthquake. The city of Chengdu in Sichuan province near the epicentre of the recent earthquake is where we visit the world famous Panda research breeding centre.
