Tripoli

Due to the present situation and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) travel advisories, we have cancelled all our holidays to Libya for this season.  

Libya's capital city still has an ancient medina and souk with plenty of atmosphere (partly due to the fact that it has never had to cater for large numbers of tourists). There is a Roman arch to Marcus Aurelius and several reminders of the Ottoman period in mosques and old houses. There is also an excellent, well laid-out museum of the Jamhariya, which gives a very good view of Libyan history.
