Cape Cross Wildlife Holidays

Cape Cross on the Skeleton Coast is home to a huge colony of Cape Fur Seals (actually a species of Sea Lion) - some 250,000 of them! During the breeding season numbers are swelled by the new-born pups; the noise of the pups calling to their mothers is unbelievable. Inevitably the racket attracts the attention of predators; hungry jackals patrol the edges of the colony in search of an easy meal. The chaos of the colony and the sheer number of animals is an amazing spectacle of nature.
