Pakistan is the site of some of the earliest human settlements, home to an ancient civilisation rivalling those of Egypt and Mesopotamia, and the crucible of two of the world's major religions, Hinduism and Buddhism, both of which have their roots in the subcontinent. But too many it's the mountains that draw them to this beautiful destination.

K-2 and Concordia, Chitral and the Hindukush, Rakaposhi and the Hunza Valley, all names to quicken the pulse of those who love mountains and their people. Northern Pakistan is blessed with the greatest mass of high mountains on earth, where the mighty Himalaya, Karakorum, Pamirs and Hindukush all meet.
