Having embarked on his first round the world trip at the age of 19 Marcus quickly found that the most important thing to him was to keep travelling for as long as he possibly could! This eventually led him to employment in the travel industry, where he has specialised in Africa, Latin America and sold most worldwide destinations for the last 6 years or so. Having spent 18 months teaching and travelling in South America, he would no doubt put that continent at the top of his list of favourite destinations, although Africa comes a very close second.

Before joining Exodus, Chris came out of back-packer retirement and spent two years tour leading in South America (trekking the Inca Trail 12 times!) and briefly in Morocco. He has also travelled extensively throughout North, South & Central America, northern India, Egypt & South Africa. He is now looking forward to seeing the world through the eyes of an Exodus traveller!

Back in 1987, Alistair bought a bucket-shop ticket to Islamabad, picked up the Karakoram Highway and headed over to China and then south through India to Ceylon over to Indochina via the Indonesian Archipelago to Papua New Guinea. Finally stopping after nine months for a refuel in Melbourne, the finest city in the southern hemisphere. He didn't leave for three years. His passion for trekking high peaks in the Andes is matched only with the need to find the perfect live Indie music gig, the more alternative the better!

Do you want to know how it feels to cycle down Death Road in Bolivia covered in mud? Or maybe learning how to surf in Ecuador? Do you know what guinea pig from a restaurant in Huaraz tastes like? Does one sweat while cycling in Cuba on a sunny day? Does accidental drinking of river water whilst white-water rafting in Ecuador cause diarrhoea? What to do if you see a bear on your path in Canadian Rockies? Finally, where is the small restaurant in Damascus that serves camel meat? Ask Karol!

Tom’s first foray outside of Europe was to Tanzania when he was 16 years old. Little did he know at the time that this would lead him on a path that would take him around the world. He lived and travelled extensively on four continents and lead tours from Mexico to Patagonia and from Nairobi to Cape Town. He has a particular passion for wildlife and is at his happiest when spotting animals in the wild.

Marta’s passion for travel started when she was 5 years old and got given her first plastic cross country skis. She went on to become ski- instructor, trekked the mountains of Poland, as well as the Alps and Pyrenees. Whilst studying tourism in Poland, she also managed to climb the Tien-Shan in Kazakhstan, kayak Baikal Lake and sail around the Pacific Ocean! Marta joined Exodus in 2007 and, with the exception of a 6 month backpacking trip to South America, has been with us ever since. She now handles operations for all our trips to Kilimanjaro and East Africa.

With a shovel in one hand and a bucket of muddy river water in the other, Vicky’s passion for travel, adventure and wildlife was cemented whilst looking after 3 baby elephants on a conservation programme in Sri Lanka. Ten years and many adventures later, her career in travel has seen her snorkelling with sea lions, playing hide and seek with penguins and giving pep talks to turtle hatchlings before releasing them into the sea. Vicky now works in the Exodus Product team managing the Wildlife and Polar brochure and is a big fan of Cuban Mojitos.

Tim was lucky enough to have his first travels sponsored by the taxpayer when his year of 'research' in Peru as part of his Latin American Studies degree turned into 12 months travelling the length of South America before returning home with a shoddy dissertation, a great suntan and a real passion for seeing the world! He now manages Exodus trips to Peru and Argentina (as well as the Picos de Europa and Japan) and still loves Latin America as much as he did after the first visit.
Expert in: All of Latin America.

At the tender age for 40(ish), Mike is already an Exodus old-timer. Joining Exodus in 1995, with 5 years as a tour leader where he specialised in the Himalayas and Latin America, Mike finally hung up his trekking boots after 2 years in the Pyrenees running trekking, biking and snowshoeing trips. Back in the office Mike developed our Winter Activities programme before moving into operations. As Operations Director, Mike's mission is now to 'make Health and Safety interesting' (good luck Mike) while maintaining Exodus' spirit of adventure!
