After plenty of adventures and excitement across the world, it's been the Middle East and Central Asia that Carl has been drawn to the most. Following the trails blazed years ago by the likes of Thesiger, Burton and Burnes, he's covered most of this region, or at least those parts that don't require you to convert or enlist. Since working at Exodus, it's been the Polar regions that have caught his attention and expeditions to both the Arctic and the Antarctic in the space of 12 months have given him a privileged look at both ends of the Earth.

Fresh out of university in 1998, Kai decided to take a general office admin role at Exodus "for a year" to pad out his CV a bit before getting a "real" job. Many years later, he's still here, having caught the travel bug after hearing so much about all corners of the world from his colleagues. A love of South East Asia was cemented with a 3 month sabbatical there in 2006, followed by marriage to a Chinese Malaysian girl he met on holiday in Thailand. His Scandivanian background also means Kai is as happy in the snow as he is in jungles and beaches. Trips to west coast America and Portugal are up next.

Having spent several winter ski seasons whizzing down the alpine slopes and summer seasons working at a watersports school in the south of France, Chloe's passion for travel began whilst at university. Shortly after, she spent 2 years living in Australia and New Zealand before heading back to the UK to begin her career in travel. Her role as Product Manager has meant that not only has she been able to enjoy some great European trekking and activity trips, but also to discover a new found love of the Middle East.

As comfortable in French or Italian as she is in English, a passion for languages started Amanda's travels across Western Europe. Although her primary aim was to be understood, she found a new world of cultures and traditions that were much more fascinating. Language gives us unique insight into a nation and it is simply the ability to communicate (even with hand signals as in Italy!) that inspires Amanda. From the day to day running of Exodus tours to looking after various areas in product and sections of the Discovery, Wildlife and Adventure brochure, her language skills have been used throughout and maintain her passion for travel.

A gap year that turned into several years of travelling throughout the world was when Emma first got her taste for trekking; firstly in Nepal on the Annapurna Circuit, but then across the Indian Himalaya, Africa and The Middle East. Nowadays, though based in the London office, Emma tries to get away on an annual trek. Every new route is a unique and always a fantastic experience!
