Ride along the quiet roads of classic Tuscany enjoying Chianti's villages, food and wine The Tuscan landscape is one of the most evocative and romantic in Europe with cypress trees lining the roads, olive groves, vineyards, ancient hill top towns and, of course, classic Renaissance cities. Our two-wheeled exploration is carefully planned to take in the best of Tuscany without feeling rushed or over-cultural ? part of the joy of the Italian lifestyle is sitting and watching the world go by with a glass of Chianti or even better a Brunnello of Montalcino!
An adventurous road cycle between Bangkok and Saigon, through traditional villages, national parks, magnificent Angkor Wat and the mighty Mekong Delta. This journey takes us across three countries with contrasting recent histories and subtly different cultures. From the bustling streets of Bangkok we make straight for the rolling limestone hills of Thailand's largest National Park, Khao Yai. Moving into Cambodia we head through shimmering paddy fields to Angkor, the magnificent temple and city complex at the centre of the former Khmer empire and one of the world's great historic sites.
Ride the passage of the pilgrims from Leon to Santiago de Compostela The Camino de Santiago de Compostela across northern Spain is one of the world's oldest pilgrimage routes. Our ride begins in the charming city of Leon with a wealth to explore through its winding narrow streets. We then cross the Castillan plains gradually climbing to the highest point of the trip, the 'Iron Cross' (1505m), in the mountain range of Leon. Before entering the gastronomic region of Galicia we visit the beautiful village of Castillo de los Polvazares, where the strong orange coloured stone creates the fascinating local architecure. We ride through fertile valleys full of vineyards and rural country on our way to completing this ancient tradition at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
An exhilarating cycling and wildlife safari covering Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Highlands - a genuine African experience This exciting trip combines the best that safari Tanzania has to offer interspersed with cycling through diverse and spectacular landscape. Starting from Arusha in the north of the country we head out across cultivated banana and coffee plantations before meeting the Rift Valley and the grasslands used by the Masai for grazing cattle. We are able to cycle close to the sorthern shores of Lake Manyara and we will almost certainly spot some game here, zebra, giraffe and wildebeest.
A pioneering ride through the remote mountain regions of Bosnia & Herzegovina - the ultimate off road adventure Although mountain biking is relatively new here, the spectacular scenery and extensive network of mountain trails provide the perfect destination for an adventurous route. The natural beauty of this region is truly stunning, with ancient forests, rugged peaks, hidden waterfalls and numerous alpine lakes where we can stop for a swim en route. Challenging rides take us deep into the mountains along fast gravel tracks and exciting natural singletrack, passing small isolated settlements where the way of life has remained unchanged for centuries. Off the bikes there is time to explore Sarajevo, Bosnia's capital city that hosted the 1984 Winter Olympics, and the charming Mostar with its famous reconstructed bridge. Both cities are fascinating, with an ancient mix of European and Near Eastern culture, as well as their more recent wartime history. This will be an unforgettable week of riding.
A pioneering ride through the remote mountain regions of Bosnia & Herzegovina - the ultimate off road adventure The Picos de Europa National Park is home to a small but spectacular range of jagged limestone mountains. Our base in the village of Arenas de Cabrales gives access to some incredible off-road biking. We ride excellent forest trails through the gorges, high pastures and alpine meadows of Spain's first National Park. Most tracks we follow are a mix of hard-pack sand and gravel with singletrack sections and the occasional quiet tarmac road. The region is mountainous, and while there are some long climbs, there is a downhill bias with the highlight being over 2000m of descent along the Picos Traverse. From sweeping descents on fast trails to the flower-rich meadows of the foothills, our route allows you to appreciate some of the most impressive mountain scenery in Spain.
