Leader Profile: Rattapoom Chanapim
Sawadee krup. My name is Rattapoom Chanapim. My nickname is Bond. Why do I have the nickname Bond? This is because my father is a James Bond movie fan. I am from Chiang Rai, a city in the northeast of Thailand, 800 km from Bangkok. I have been working with Exodus for over six years. I have travelled to many different places around Thailand – sightseeing, trekking and cycling. Every tour from Exodus is good fun, and we have nice cultural experiences and enjoy the local food. If I have to choose only one Exodus trip, I would choose the 16-day ‘Trails of Thailand’ (Trip Code: AOD) trip, which includes Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Krabi beach. It’s a great combination of Thai culture, hilltribe trekking and beach relaxation. In January 2007 I had one of my best trips with Exodus. At first I thought that it would be very difficult to deal with the group because they were all of very different ages - 21, 25, 30, 50, and 76 years (the oldest). But despite the age difference the group got along very well. For example, when they did the bamboo rafting everyone helped one another like they came from the same family - that was a very impressive experience for me. However, I think I love all the Exodus tours because I enjoy meeting new people, having new experiences, and culture exchange. I am also proud to present my lovely culture and country. Welcome to Thailand!
Client Review
“Bond was an absolute hero! He looked after everyone really well. Always making sure that you were having a great time!! Could not fault his knowledge, organisational skills or travel arrangements. Everything was spot on!!” - Sion Charlesworth-Jones
“Our leader, Mr. Bond, was a hoot! Always ready to answer my 1000 questions and challenging me to ask him something no one else had before in the 7 years since he started. By the way...I never did find out if I had won that challenge or not...” - Carol-Ann St-Onge
