Exodus' Cycling leader, Peter Bluck
Exodus' Cycling leader, Peter tells us about how he came to work for Exodus 20 years ago….
“By a twist of fate, having been the first person to cycle through post war Vietnam in 1991 and just finished riding around Sri Lanka in 1992, my path collided with Exodus. It seemed that other people were also interested in cycling as a holiday, and a return trip to Sri Lanka in 1994, would leave me as a permanent resident of the Island and a full time cycling guide. Five years later, India would become my next destination, with a condensed version of a personal journey from Mysore to Kanyakumari at the tip of Southern India making it into the Exodus cycling brochure (Cycle Kerala and Tropical India – MIK). I included all the little tea stop and restaurants that one would stop at en-route and made sure that all the days were cycling from point-to-point without transfers.
My next inspiration again came from India, starting in the former French colony of Pondicherry in the east I decided to ride coast to coast. With the gods by my side I set out for Fort Cochin on the west coast, truly experiencing incredible India and Gods own country. Now refined it's a classic ride across Southern India for those who love a sense of purpose to a ride. Having a passion for cycling and discovering new places, I like to turn my own adventures into tours that other people with the same enthusiasm will enjoy. With great cycling, varied scenery, plenty of cultural history and delicious local food, the 'Southern India Coast to Coast Ride' is now also in the Exodus ra
nge and I am looking forward to meeting some of my old riding buddies as well as plenty of new ones who share my passion for travel and cycling.”
