Exodus' client Paul McGirr reviews his Walking in the Western Dolomites holiday

Walking along Latemar route (Alberto Campanile)This was the most enjoyable trip I've had in a long time.Val di Fassa is a beautiful place and the hotel was very comfortable. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and made the place feel like home. The structure of the walking week was excellent.

The walking highlight of the walk for me was San Pellegrino, a beautiful hike with a little bit of uphill which we were all well prepared for by our exertions during the week. The daily highlight was our beer and chat on arrival back at the hotel (home) before scrubbling up for the next daily highlight, which was dinner in the hotel each night. Great evenings of chat and camaraderie and excellent food.

All in all an excellent week and one I would highly recommend to anyone.

Exodus' Dolomites Leader Karl Mather reviews Classic Dolomites holiday

Tre Cime di Lavaredo, SunriseLeading The Classic Dolomites trip (Trip Code: TWU) is something I really look forward to, as it offers unrivalled scenery and brilliant walks. Also I can choose between a week of fairly gentle walking (‘B’ grade weeks) or more challenging routes thanks to the ‘C’ grade on certain departures. Every view takes my breath away!

June and July bring an abundance of wildflowers, whilst September brings autumn golden leaves to admire when walking through mountains steeped in history. Charming mountain huts manned by hospitable characters who should be in children’s books, offer a range of delights, including apfelstrudel (freshly made), kaiserschmarren (sugared pancakes), hot chocolate & great beers.

Highlights of a typical week include walking, exploring in and around the Drei Zinnen (Tre Cime) area, a dramatic ascent of Monte Piano with its incredible summit carpeted in alpine flowers. I always take the opportunity to walk the path to Pragster Wildsee (one of the most beautiful lakes in the Dolomites), which is famous as the escape route for the European leaders who were held hostage by the Nazis at the end of WW2.

Staying at the Hotel Adler with comfortable en-suite rooms, swimming pool, sauna, steam   room and lovely food means clients are able to relax & rejuvenate themselves ready for another great day. In my opinion it’s the best destination in our brochure!
