Taste Easter the Italian Way
Easter is a great time to visit the Amalfi Coast with your family. There is plenty to keep everyone entertained; local festivities, stunning landscapes and pretty villages with fewer tourists around!
Easter, know as 'Pasqua' in Italian, is essential a family occasion and in the Amalfi Coast area is celebrated with ceremonies and culinary customs that are distinctive to the region.
On Easter Sunday we’ll sample dishes such as the Casatiello, a rich bread filled with salami and cheese; Pastiera, a traditional Easter cake made with ricotta, candid fruit and short pastry; kids receive a traditional chocolate egg, containing a small gift inside. The following day, we’ll all take part in a fun Pasquetta picnic! “Pasquetta”, meaning “Little Easter” is the ‘national picnic-ing holiday’ and just like the Italians we’ll be outdoors enjoying good food and mild weather.
April is also an ideal tim
e to discover the beautiful Italian coastline and walk along the famous ‘Walk of the Gods’, taking in the spectacular views. With a more temperate climate than in the summer months it's perfect to wander around the ancient Roman town of Pompeii and the meandering streets of lively Amalfi and Positano with your family.
Of course a family holiday wouldn’t be complete without tasting the renowned Neapolitan Pizza, which we have the opportunity to make during the week - a highlight for kids and grown-ups alike!
