In 2008 Mongolia will offer something extra by way of an incredible setting for a total solar eclipse, an amazing natural phenomenon where the sun is totally obscured by the moon, creating a period of total darkness during the daytime.
Mongolia is known for many things - the Land of Blue skies, Genghis Khan, the Gobi Desert and more. Yet this country of just 2.2 million people, nestled between the two super-powers of China and Russia remains one of the worlds best kept travel secrets. With its spectacular variety of landscapes, people and cultures Mongolia has much to offer.
Exodus are offering the chance to witness the eclipse across the stunning Hoton and Hurgan Lakes, with a back drop of glaciated peaks of the Altai Tavan Bogd Range.
