Anyone going on AKB812 Darjeeling, Sikkim & Bhutan, departing 18 March

It would be great to hear from anyone going on that trip. It would be my first time in any of those places except Kolkata (I was there and in rural West Bengal back in 1988).

I'm interested in the scenery, wildlife and cultures of these places. In Kolkata I want to go to the house where my favourite poet - Rabindranath Tagore - was born. And I look forward to visiting Buddhist temples in various places. I'm particularly interested in visiting Taktshang (Tiger's Nest, Paro Valley).

I look forward to hearing from fellow travellers!

AKB812 -

My husband and I are eagerly anticipating this trip - Cec was in and around Calcutta during WW2 and visited Darjeeling when on leave. He has at last given in to my requests to visit the sub-continent! We both love mountains, plants, enjoy other cultures and good company, as is usual on Exodus hols (last year Yunnan).

Dear Brenda and Cec -

Dear Brenda and Cec Lane

Thank you for your message. This will be the first time that I've travelled with Exodus. A lot of my travelling has been independent. However, that's not possible with Bhutan, and in any case this tour with Exodus looks really interesting - I'm interested in the places in India as well as Bhutan.

I appreciate that I've had the opportunity to travel as much as I have in Europe, Asia and Latin America.. I have also lived in three other countries - in Europe Lithuania, and in Asia Turkey (Asian side) and South Korea. I've had many great experiences in my travels.

I look forward to meeting you next week.

 Regards

 Charles

Memories -

Dear Charles,

We missed you at Heathrow so i was not able to thank you for changing seats with me on the plane so that we two could be together. You came of rather badly for I had had a middle seat.

We have heard from some of the others since then but we don't have an email address for you. I do hope you visit this site!

Best wishes and thanks,

Brenda
