Petra & Palmyra -

Anyone done this trip? Does going during Ramadan add any issues? General thought and advice welcome! Thanks

Dave

Petra -

Hi Dave,

I went to Petra and Wadi Rum during Ramadan 2007. The main difference was that the guide and driver were fasting and so didn't sit with us during meals. But our meals were very good.

The call to prayer from the Mosque was louder and went on for longer than it normally would. Not a problem generally but a bit of an early morning wake up call at times!

Also although we were able to drink alcohol, it was a bit more difficult to come by, but the guides were helpful there.

I hope this helps,

Karen.
