The Big One! - 5th Feb 2009 - 5:16pm
Just a quick hello to the 'tractor'boys from Suffolk and 'Beachboy' Randy - last one to book this trip and probably the oldest (Retrired) For me its another one of those must do things to tick off the list. Will be disappointed if I cant push on from Gillmans Point and make Uhuru. That last day will be a big challenge but altitude sickness could affect any of us - fingers crossed! See you at the airport - Im the one with the grey hair!
Cheers
Patrick (Norwich City supporter)
east anglian derby - 9th Feb 2009 - 1:14pm
hello patrick, well thats 6 guys going, probably 6 swedish girls joining us knowing my luck. it,ll be fine mate, yellow and blue right to the summit.
just got a few more bits and bobs to get, bringing diamox with me just in case, the chemist i use in felixstowe done everest base camp 5 times plus loads high altitude on every continent and swears by it, helps above 4000m if we get a bit giddy or the old ticker starts racing bit to much in the morning.
probably wont need it anyway, keep in touch, not long now.
Premier league - 9th Feb 2009 - 3:01pm
"NOT LONG NOW" really looking forward to this, trained really hard this last month gonna start taking things a liitle slower now. As for the Norwich v Ipswich thing I'm a Man Utd season ticket holder and have red tinted glasses......!
I have a great sense of humour and reaaly enjoy a good banter so lets all crack on have a good giggle and pop a bottle of champers at the summit......

Hello Again - 15th Feb 2009 - 7:03pm
Looking forward to the swedish girls joining our trip ( If I can find one my age!) Been watching Extreme Dreams all last week on Dave TV about Ben Fogle taking a mixed group on the Rongai route. Only 3 guys made it to Uhuru - 3 girls dropping out earlier. I am now concerned that I have done very little training for this. Also thought about Diamox - but will take my chances. Highest Ive been before is 12,600' on Mt Kinabalu. 'Just a walk in the park' -you must be joking.
Shattered Dreams - 16th Feb 2009 - 8:01pm
Hi Guys
Im on the trip on the 27th too. My name is Tom and im travelling with my mate Paul, were both from Rotherham (you'll probably only know it due to floods, fat people and Jamie Oliver). . So sory to shatter the dreams of the sweedish ladies. I suppose there could still be 4 on the trip??
Anyways is everyone all set? think ive just about got everything i need. Our doctorss wern't prepared to perscribe diamox so were going without.
busty swedish - 17th Feb 2009 - 1:01pm
hi tom and paul, yeah the swedish dream is fading fast. me and gavin just about got all the gear, probably wont need half of it but you never know. peaked my training by doing the tough guy race in wolverhampton couple wks ago and we are now easing up. picking up some diamox tablets today, but hope we wont need them, nice n easy all the way to the top lads,
There is always cheryl - 17th Feb 2009 - 9:25pm
Hi all. This is paul the other rotherham boy traveling with tom. Really looking forward to the trip now. My training peaked in 1997... so who knows if i'll make but it wont be for lack of determination. Gutted about the swedish dream but there is always the chance of bumping into cheryl cole. Keep the faith boys. See ya soon!
Missing Four - 19th Feb 2009 - 4:32pm
Spoke to Kai at Exodus to find out who the last 4 are.
....'a married couple in their 60s, a female in her mid thirties and one other guy'. So I was right - its a Swedish 'Abba' tribute band to entertain us en route!
Hello to the new boys from Rotherham. See you all soon

just to say myself (steve) , gavin and two friends phil & darren looking
fwd to the trip. we are also raising a bit of cash for some new eqipment
or to help kids generally at a local autism centre in kesgrave (thats in suffolk),
cash injected straight to the centre ,not funnelled into charity headquarters to dissapear.
anyway, any one else on this trip please post in who, what, where, why etc
be nice to know a bit about our group b4 we set off,
