Cape Town to Victoria Falls - transport
Cape Town to Victoria Falls - transport - 3rd Feb 2009 - 12:29pm
Hi Russ
The vehicles we use on the Cape Town to Victoria Falls trip is similar to an Overland expedition vehicle only that it is on a smaller scale. So there is room to get up and move around. And although not everyone gets a 'window seat' the windows are pretty big and there is plenty of room for everyone to have a good veiwing experience on the game drives. There are some long drives on this trip and the roads can be bumpy at times, we did try to use small minivans which were faster on the long drives but compromised the game viewing so we reverted to the vehicles we use now.

I hope this helps answer your questions.

A truck called Isabel - 12th Feb 2009 - 12:08pm
Hi, Russ! I did this trip at the end of 2006 in a truck called Isabel! No problems. The truck is certainly smaller than the Exodus Overland trucks, but it doesn't have to carry all the cook gear as cooking is done over open fires throughout.
I enjoyed it enormously. Don't let the long drives put you off. The scenery is fantastic.

Thinking of doing this trip but main concern is the safari vehicle - we've been on several where they use the large overland truck and find the space and viewing excellent wherever you sit - this trip uses 12 seater, forward facing vehicles where not everyone has a window seat. Feedback would be appreciated.
