DAYSAC -
I am doing the Rongai route in July, will we be carrying our own sleeping bag and mat in our daysacs or do the porters carry this kit? I ask to determine the right size of rucsack to bring for the actual trek.

sleeping bags and mats -

For all our trips on the mountain our porters carry peoples sleeping bags and sleeping mats. You only need to carry whatever items you will need for the days walk. Its possible to hire 5cm thick foam mattress (sourced locally), these do not count as part of your 15kg luggage limit. These must be booked prior to departure, but are well worth it and make thermarests feel like your sleeping on a piece of paper, and I am a huge fan of thermarests.

Hiya,I used a 35 Litre day -

Hiya,

I used a 35 Litre day sac which was plenty big enough and is the right size to use as hand baggage on the flight.
