Bhutan

Hi - I'm coming along! Am flying to LHR from M/r.
I've been getting in a bit of practice - giving the dogs extended walks. The other day we walked in Swaledale in the Yks Dales, 18km & 345m ...every little helps! Fantastic vies but no Gompas or Dzongs just ineresting leadmining ruins ... & sheep!
I'm finding difficult to work out exactly where we are going from Exodus trip notes when I put them alongside maps scraped off google etc & books. Anyone found any good links?
Hi
I can't wait for the 23rd Sept to come around either. Hopefully the monsoon season will end and bring us clear blue skies. I want my photo's to turn out great!
Look forward meeting you all.

- I understand that there are 13 of us.
- I asked about the requirement for long sleeved shirts and trousers. Exodus told me that these are suggested for when attending festivals as all the locals get dressed up and it is quite a conservative culture. As an alternative you can wear a cardigan or jackets over short sleeves. On another site it says they frown upon trainers too - but Exodus don't mention this.
- Check your insurance. Evidently a lot of policies don't cover you at all over altitudes of 2500m or for trekking.
- Looking at the travel adapter you need for Bhutan they same to recommend an Indian Travel Adapter and/or European Travel Adapter. See www.roamingfox.co.uk.
- Remember the 3 passport photos for visas (I will probably be the only one who forgets!)

Just spoken to Exodus who tell me we don't need Iodine tablets for this trip - well, it's a fully supported trek, so it was unlikely, but it was in the general packing list.
I was struggling to get hold of them anyway - they will be banned from Oct this year and most places no longer have stock - http://www.lakelandbushcraft.co.uk/blog/2009/05/iodine-drops-tabs-to-be-banned.html has the story
