Aconcagua -
Trip - TAA - ACONCAGUA ASCENT, Departure Date - Monday 10th December 2012
Time to get this party started! Anyone else out there booked up for this lovely stroll in the Andes over Xmas :)

Hi there, indeed have been -

Hi there, indeed have been looking forward to this all year!  There's nothing like celebrating Christmas at altitude, that and the start of a New Year with a summit!  Should be a very nice couple of weeks, and well worth the wait.  Graham

Hello -
Hi guys, yes looking forward to the challenge!  I love the phrase,"stroll in the Andes".  If only that could be the case!  Catch you later.   John

Hi John and GrahamGreat to -

Hi John and Graham

Great to hear from you both and look forward to meeting up in December.

Nervous anticipation gradually building up here - had this mountain in mind for about 15 years now but things have often got in the way and haven't always been at the fitness level I wanted to take it on . Finally bitten the bullet and a yearly trip to the shops in Keswick nearly upon me next week to get the right boots for the job :)

Paul

Boots -

Well Paul, what did you go for on the boots department on your annual Keswick pilgramige?  I'm probably heading for a pair of Vegas.  Just a pitty I can't get away with my Mantas.

Cheers,

John

Hi JohnI must be a contender -

Hi John

I must be a contender for Needle Sports customer of the year 2012 after getting kitted out this time.

I'm usually a Scarpa fan and rely on the Mantas also but I tried on some Omegas last year and they felt very uncomfortable and heavy. Went on a trip earlier in the year to Norway as a bit of a prep for this and a guy there had a pair that almost fell apart when he went to Andes and he was kitted out in La Sportiva Spantiks for that trip. A bit more expensive but I found them much more to my liking and so they ended up being the choice (Boreal G1 Lites would have been second choice). It better be minus 30 now to get full use out of them :)

Just sorted my flights out and will be joining everyone at the Madrid leg of the journey as I'm based in Spain

cheers

Paul

only a month to go! -
Excitement still building....How's everyone been getting on with training for this?

Ah..... training! -

Training going as well as it usually goes for this type of trip, ie. a rush at the end!  I guess you  have ideal weather for it, down there in Madrid.

Yip, free exodus bag arrived yesterday, so that usually focuses the mind a little more.

Hope all goes well, cheers.

Did you make it? -

Hi - we're going on the February 2013 Exodus Aconcagua trip.  Just wondered how you all went over the December trek.  Did you make it?  How was the weather.  Any problems like altitude sickness, extreme cold, wind?  Hope to hear from one of you.  Cheers.  Robert
