Amalfi Coast - 23 Feb

I'm counting down the days!! Less than a month away now :)  Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that we give the rain a miss and get some nice sunshine!

 I'm also keeping my fingers crossed with the weather. It can't be any worse than the UK!

I'm in too ... looking forward to it and hoping for great weather, food, wine and walks ... and hopefully the company won't be bad either :))

Either of you been on an Exodus holiday before?  This is my first but two of my friends have done this trip and recommended it highly!

I went to the Atlas Mountains last Christmas with Exodus ... It was a great trip. I've done quite a lot of other group trips too but this is the first one travelling on my own. Are you two catching the group flight?

First time with Exodus for me!  Although I have been on a couple of group holidays before.   First time to Italy too so really looking forward to it.  Hope the food is good!Yes, I am on the group flight.  The Gatwick one right?Paul

I`m traveling on my own as well, on the group flight, is a bit early thought hope I don`t have to get a taxi to get to Gatwick.

Just had a look at the train times.  Not too bad for me as I live in Croydon.  Trains are pretty regular from London Victoria.  How about you guys?

I'm Monica from Cambridge and I'm making my own way there via Stansted. It was a choice of a night in a hotel in Gatwick or an extra night in Bomerano...I'll be there late evening Friday, having arrived in Naples at 16:40 (Easyjet permitting).

Haven't travelled with Exodus before, travelling on my own, but looking forward tremendously to stunning scenery, leisurely walking (with steps), good food, and I hope spring sunshine and flowers.

I'm travelling down from Leeds on the Friday evening so have only a five minute transfer to the airport on Saturday morning.  If anyone wants to grab a coffee/breakfast in departures give me a shout! 

Looking forward to meeting everyone and fingers crossed the Amalfi weather will be great to us :)

Is it really only 4 days to go?  It's come round quick.  Hope there are no flight delays...

I'm already packed ... don't forget your waterproofs ... 10-day forecast has lots of showers on the Amalfi Coast!!  

So you taking waterproof trousers as well as jacket? And what proportion of warm long-sleeved tops to summery t-shirts? My impression is that the weather could be as changeable as here! BBC Weather is showing a range of daytime highs from 8 to 17 and lows of 1-12 and showers Saturday-Tuesday. Oh well, at least the scenery will be quite different to Cambridge!

 

Hi Monica ... yes, I'm taking waterproof trousers just in case!  Would rather have them and not wear them ththan not have and need them!!  I'm taking a mixture of long/short sleeved tops ... I think you'll need LS hiking on the coastline due to the sea breeze.  Come rain or shine, I'm sure we'll enjoy ourselves and the scenery will be amazing :)

Yes, I was beginning to think I'd throw in the waterproof trousers, on the basis that if one has them it won't rain... and they're not heavy. And yes, mixture of long & short-sleeved; just undecided about the proportion - the lightweight fleece comes anyway.

Definitely looking forward to it - never been to that part of Italy and Cambridge is distinctly lacking in mountain scenery!
