Amalfi Coast 25th August new traveller.

We did this trip last August and had a wonderful holiday. You'll have a great time.

This will be te first time I've done a trip like this also. I'm really looking forward to it. It sounds amazing and Italy is a beautiful place. It will be nice to meet others like yourself and make some new friends :-)

Irene Smith    hi everyone.  have booked 25th august to amalfi etc.   as it is an early flight have also booked hotel night before.   anyone else doing same.  went to petra with exodus last yr, my first as a single (widow) and had a marvellous time. everyone was so kind to me. nice to meet someone before we fly if possible.

Hope you are all well and looking forward to this trip.  This is my second trip with Exodus, went to Morocco last Xmas/New Year.  Very interesting trip, excellent guide, good group, but some quite basic accommodation, but not unexpected.  I was a bit late in booking for this trip, so will be travelling out via Dusseldorf and arriving in Naples at 13:15.  Anyone else doing the same?  If not, will see you at the hotel.  What time will you be arriving?

Irene Im also staying the night at Gatwick prior to the flight.  Tony, for those of us that are due to arrive on the direct flight we are due to arrive in Naples at 11.40 so will be at the hotel only a couple of hours before you.

 I hope everyon is enjoying the Olympics despite the change in weather! 

Irene Smith    am booked in at the Best.Western Moat House Hotel.   travelling down by train to Kings Cross and then on by train to Gatwick.   that is the part I am not looking forward to....being a country hick always find the underground a bit much but have allowed  plenty of time in both directions., so hopefully I shall cope.

Hi Alison, thanks for the info.  Really looking forward to the holiday and to meeting you all at the hotel.  Also enjoying the Olympics, especially the gold medal this morning.  Irene, I am sure you will be okay and since you are travelling down the night before, you can take your time.

Hi All, this will be my first trip with Exodus - my first time ever without friends or family so I'm really excited (and a bit nervous!)  Irene, I'm also travelling down the day before (from Liverpool, although I live in North Wales) and staying in the Sofitel Hotel.  Like you, I'm also a bit worried about being in London, having only ever visited there once before!  I'm still debating whether to fly down, or get the train; trains involve getting from Euston to Victoria to get the Gatwick Express before arriving at the hotel!  However, the latest return plane flight back to Liverpool leaves at 3.40pm so I'm a bit concerned about whether I'll make it.  Any thoughts?  Anyway, looking forward to meeting you all - but not the steps and hills! Hi I'm going to be at Gatwick night before, staying at the holiday inn Gatwick. be in the bar evening of 24th. This is my first exodus holiday do bit nervous but looking forward to it. Jane :-)

Jan if you dont fancy getting across to Victoria from Euston you can also get a train to Gatwick from London St Pancreas (the first capital connect line) - St Pancreas is just a 5 min walk (or maybe 10 mins with bags) from Euston (take a left out of the station along the main road) - but Im sure you will be fine - I would just try and avoid the rush hour as it just hasstle with bags on the tubes.  Given we are not due to get into Gatwick until 14.10 it might be a bit of a rush for another flight at 3.40 but I dont know what the check in rules are for internal flights and I dont like rushing!

Im also staying at sofitel the night before so its a shame that were not all in the same hotel! 

 London is quite a friendly place to be at the moment after the Olympics so Im sure anyone nervous about travelling across town will be fine.

Not long now, getting excited!  Irene i'm booked into Best Western Moat House at gatwick on Friday, I'll proably be there early evening. Also you can walk through the new undeground bit from kings cross to St pancreas and get first capital connect train to gatwick from there. Dont need to do any underground trains this way. :-)

Hi Everyone,

Met with some Australian relatives on Friday evening.  They are on a 6-month tour of Europe and did the Amalfi coast a few weeks ago.  They said that the Walk of the Gods is spectacular and is all downhill.  They said that the steps are a bit uneven and recommended having a hiking stick for this walk.   I think Exodus also recommend this.  They are fit 30 somethings, so it is not needed for strength, just for stability.  They also said that if we are going up Vesuvius to take a warm top with us, as it does get cold up there.

hi being new to exodus, do we get an e ticket sent ? as Ive not recieved anyting yet so getting a bit worried.

Hi Jane, you should have received, either by e-mail or post, your final joining instructions ( I received mine by e-mail on 1st August).  This will show the airline booking reference and you may be able to use this to check in on-line.  The one booking reference may apply for all of you in the group for the flight from Gatwick, so you may, or may not be able to check in on-line.  On my last trip with Exodus, Exodus said that we could not check in on-line, but when we tried it, we aere able to do so.  If not, you will have to check in at the airport, but you should have the booking reference by now.  If you don't have it, then you should ring Exodus in the morning.  I am flying from LHR via Germany, so my booking reference is not the same as yours.

Cheers for that Tony, did you get a kit bag too, just going through old emails from Exodus they said you recieve a kit bag did you get one?. Not long now till we all meet up for a great week :o)

No, you only get them on certain trips.  Seems not on this one, nor on the one I did to Morocco.

Hi, after reading all the discusion about getting through London, I'm feeling very happy that I live on the South West side of London.  I'll look out for Exodus luggage tags at check in.
