Hi

Just booked to go on this trip and I'd would love to hear from others that have booked, or anyone who has any tips and advice.

Mandy

I have been each year and -
I have been each year and find it very rewarding. As for tips - the villagers are very appreciative of warm clothing so if you have stuff you can spare it would be greatly appreciated together with toys, basic medical supplies etc. I am sure Andy will give everyone more details nearer the time. Just be prepared to muck in at the village and you will really enjoy it. See you there! Pedro

Thanks very much for the -
Thanks very much for the tips Pedro.  I am really looking forward to it as it is something completely different and a good way to see the real Morocco.  What is the gite like in the mountain village?  I am expecting it to be basic and I know we get breakfast and dinner provided - but what about lunches?  I can't go all day without food!!  And showers?  Cheers Mandy

Hi Pedro and Mandy,I'm -

Hi Pedro and Mandy,

I'm Lindsey and also looking forward to the trip. Just writing up a notice to display at work for supplies to take to Tijhza :)

See you there!

A tip I have picked up from -
A tip I have picked up from another regular is vacuum packing as you can get loads more in that way. Bags at Poundland!

Meet up at Heathrow? -

Hi Guys

One tip I picked up from someone else is to take coffee sachets, cup a soups etc, as apparently the Mountain Willage is rather partial only to mint tea! It's just knowing what clothes to pack - typical woman thing! We'll have to arrange to meet up at Heathrow after check in for a drink.

Catch ya laters!

Morocco Volunteer - not long now! -

I can't believe there's only 3 days to go.  I packed last night and wondered why I had so much room left in my case - then I remembered I'd forgotten to pack my sleeping bag!  Doh!!

Anyone fancy meeting up at Heathrow after check in? So we get to know each other before the adventure begins.

I'll only have web access up to tomorrow at 5pm, so let me know asap.

If not see you on Sunday (somewhere!)

Mandy

Hi Mandy,

I just thought I would say hello.  I will be on the group flight with you but am flying down from Edinburgh (VERY early start!!) so am not sure about timings. I plan to head to the gate once it appears on the board so will hopefully catch up with you then. I will have a bright red fleece on or around my waist and will be carrying a purple daysack...dark curly hair and bleary eyes!

See you Sunday, Rebecca

Morocco Volunteer -

Hi Rebecca

Hooray - a fellow Scot!  Well not exactly as I am from Yorkshire originally but I'm living in Glasgow at the mo.  I couldn't get a connecting flight where the timings worked for Sunday, so I am flying down to Heathrow on Saturday and staying in a hotel overnight.

I will look out for you.  I'll have a dark blue hoody on with a stripey hood and a turquoise day sack, dark reddy coloured bodded hair.

See you Sunday

Mandy

Meant to say - dark -
Meant to say - dark red/brown "bobbed hair" not bodded hair!  Sorry!

Rebecca and Mandy - look -

Rebecca and Mandy - look forward to meeting you Sunday. I hope to check in around 9 so might see you then

. Andy will probably be wearing his black Ex T shirt so you will spot him easily
