ANNAPURNA SANCTUARY - Anyone booked for December 20th?

Natasha hi , I booked to go on this trip a few weeks ago. This will be my 3rd trekking holiday with Exodus , the previous 2 where the Wadi Rum in Jordan and Atlas Mts in Morocco totally different, both well organised. The pace was good and considers the levels of the group. Had conversations with Exodus personnel about this trip and they indicated this is an easier trek than the Atlas Mts as we don't do the severe inclines and descends in the same day, looking at the topography chart for this does appear more gradual and kinder. So your fitness level will be fine.Hear the day time weather will be good between 10 -15 degreess but night time will be the test , so plan to pack plenty of thermal layersfor when the sun goes down.Happy to share my previous experiences if you want to chat and hopefully you will join us for Christmas !
Kim
And look forward to meeting you and the rest of the group on December 20th in KTM

Hi Natasha are you travelling with the group or did you book your flights independently ? You may be interested keeping your eye on the temperatures to gauge what will be in store for us

Hi,
I booked this a couple of weeks ago - just thought I would say hi. I'm a mid 30s expat living in Hong Kong, and I'll be joining you guys in Kathmandu (LHR is a slight detour!). See you then!

Hi Warwick, welcome to the group.
Thanks for sharing the weather link Kim. Colder during the day than I was expecting. On which note, I am trying to take some gear decisions. I have regular hiking boots, but also have some thermal lined ones. One of the exodus agents said go with the regular ones and just bring something warm and comfortable (Uggs for me) for the evenings. Similarly in walking trousers I am going with light weight, and I guess will start in the mornings with thermals underneath and will get these off as it warms up on the trails. Bunch of baselayers, mid layers and fleece for the rest and a big down coat for evenings.
I am joining the group in KTM too. I actually live in Washington DC (but am English). I am heading to the UK next week for a few days with friends and family, and then I am booked on a BA flight to Delhi over night on the 19th (had miles for an upgrade, so got a better deal) and onto KTM on the 20th on Jet Airways at 12.30 into KTM at 14:10. I think this is the same flight as the group right? Either way I guess we are all meeting up at the hotel that evening.
If either of you (or anyone else checking in to this forum is on facebook, feel free to message me there - tashiwoo@hotmail.com - Natasha Kate Ward)
