Hey, I have just signed up for this and really looking forward too it. Have completed a number of walks in the UK in the last few years and this will be my first international adventure - looking forward to meeting you all!
Alex
Getting excited now
Gone back over the details and getting gear ready - this time 3 weeks will be in Katmandhu
We have just had a traning walk to top of Snowdon today in the wind and rain - think if we manage this will be OK!!!
Anyone ging from manchester or heathrow on the 23 rd September?
Snowdon sounds like ideal prep; I was supposed to bet there also last weekend but couldnt get campsite booked in time. Have started my packing now - has anyone received their Exodus bag? Is anyone going to use it? I had planned to take an 80l rucksack and a smaller 25l day sack, but now I am thinking to use exodus bag and then take a better 30 litre day sack - what do you think is best?
We are taing Exodus bags as main luggage
Only allowed 12 Kg on trek (not on trip notes but have checked) - will leave some clean clothes for return to Kathmandu
Taking 25 Lt day pack but if you have a 30 lt that is good - being female 25 is all I can manage with my digital SLR - yes love my photography!!!
Probably if you don't have exodus bag the 801 rucksuck willbe equivalent
Be sure and wear walking boots on plane
Where is everyone starting from???
12kg? Wow, wasnt aware of that so will need to think more strategically about my most desired items!
Starting from Bristol,
Think we are OK with gear but what temperature can we expect at Annurpurna base camp day and overnight just so we know the level of gear to pack?
Annabel and Mike joining at Heathrow from Manchester
.. to meeting you all in Kathmandu.

Dawa, it will be my birthday on 29th September. What kind of things do we do in the evening?

Hi Dawa, I have only just heard the terrible new about the earthquake; I hope you are all safe and well. I only hearing bits of this on Western news, how widespread is the damage?
Sincerest wishes,
Alex.
I was on Dawa's last trip at Easter - it was awesome - and Dawa will take good care of you. One piece of advice - take full waterproofs - my mistake! I camped out at Annurpurna Base camp -tentless - (too many snorers doing my head in) and it was a fantastic experience - not even too cold!Have a fab trip and hope to meet again Dawa - keep singing in the rain and remember the brolly!
Nells x
