Any other families out there?
Hi Kaypee
We're coming to Turkey too. There are 3 of us - David, Julie and Jack (age 10). Never been on this sort of trip before - it was recommended by friends. We are really looking forward to it. Maybe hear from you before we go - or see you there.
Cheers

Great to get a reply from the forum. We've booked our trips (all except the scuba) and are really looking forward to the adventure. I'm a little nervous about the heat levels as it tends to sap the energy somewhat (and I have some running training to do... though how and when, I do not know...). Also, our Gatwick flight requires a pretty early check-in, so Monday the 9th will be a l o n g d a y.
We've been warned by a friend to ensure that we have £10 notes (each) for the purchase of the visas at Dalaman (not fivers and not 20s for two people), and as my UK passport only has a couple of months left to run, and we need 6 months, I'm travelling on another EU passport that requires a 15 Euro transaction for the visa; not sure what denomination of notes fits best for that though. A 10 and a 5 I'm guessing.
Other than that I must book the airport parking and get some Lira and I think we're set!
Not sure which airport you're travelling from but perhaps we'll meet at Gatwick or in the resort. We've not been to Turkey before, so if you have and can pass on any tips we'd be grateful.
Best wishes
Kevin (Kevin P. = KP = Kaypee...), Helen, William & Charlotte
Hi Kevin
Good to hear from you. We're flying from Manchester - on our own flight booking so we hope we are on time. We want to join the Exodus transfer but we've been told that if we're late, the transfer won't wait and we have to make our own way to Kas! Fingers crossed!
Sounds like a good tip about the visas - thanks. I've experienced visa chaos in Egypt and I appreciate the more organised you can be the easier it is.
I've never been to Turkey before so I really don't know much - except, as you say, everyone talks about how hot it'll be. Still, I hope that with a good number of water-based activities, this should help. We're booked for all activities - though after we booked, we found that as Julie has slight asthma, scuba is not possible for her - not very clever of us but there you go!
Hopefully we will meet you in Dalaman on the 9th
Cheers
David
Dear Looby-Lou
Well I knew a Looby-Lou a few years ago: married a Steve (I think) and settled in Yorkshire. That would be too much of a coincidence.
Thanks for your advice and recommendation of the adventure to come.
Any recommendations on: places to eat in Kas? Things to definitely take? I was advised that British Pounds are welcomed for good local exchange rates so to only get a few Turkish Lira to take with us.

Just wondered if there is anyone out there going to Turkey this August? We're a family of 4 (boy of 14, girl of 12) embarking upon our first Exodus trip.
The idea of the forum sounded interesting so I thought I would take the plunge and "post" away.
So is anyone there or have we got the holiday to ourselves???
Hope to hear from someone soon!
