18th trip???  This is my first, and first holiday for about 3 years...

I've a friend who did this trip a while ago and he's OK'd it -  as he usually prefers the mountaineering in the Himalayas stuff, I'm happy to take his word for it!

Just wondering what lenses your bringing with you?

Obviously a wide angle for the scenery, but are you bringing anything 'big'? 

I will bring two zooms, 18-55 and 55-200 which are fully compatible with my camera. Might also bring an older 35-70 with extension tubes for close-ups, but this one has to be set manually and I don't usually bother to pack it for overseas trips. Martin M

Canons lenses?

 I was thinking about my 16-35 2.8 mkII, but i'm also considering

a) 50-500mm (Sigma) which is a great take everywhere and cover everything lens, but it's slower, very heavy, plus it's not as good image quality as..

b) 70-200mm F4, plus a 1.4 extender, and my baby 300mm F4 all of which are better image quality than the above.

I was considering my 100mm Macro as well... but that's probably too much to carry.  I usually carry the 16-35mm and either a/b above with no problem...
