Yes, I'm going on this trip.  I was booked to go in March and had to cancel two days before the trip due to illness so I'm really looking forward to actually going this time!

Based on your experience Beth, could you advise on the most appropriate footwear for the trip. I normally have walking boots but looking at photos on line, some people seems to have sturdy sandals instead (or as well). I am determined to travel light so your comments would be appreciated

I strongly recommend anyone going on this trip (or any others touching Zambia and transitting through SA) reads the linked thread.  We may need YF certificates to be allowed to transit through Jo-burg after 1 October.

 

I am on the 15th. October trip and would welcome the footwear advice as well. I am having my YF jab this afternoon. I look forward to meeting the rest of the gang on the way.
