Anyone coming to Jordan for Christmas? -
Trip - AXW - A WEEK IN JORDAN, Departure Date - Saturday 22nd December 2012
Hello out there - is anyone booked onto the Jordan trip going on 22 Dec?Have just made the final payment and now starting to get excited about the trip. I've been on several Exodus trips over the past few years and lots of fellow travellers have raved about this one, I can't wait!!

Jordan -
jcorr Hi iam going really looking forward to it , I am on my own what about you? Jackie

Re Jordan -

Yes I'm on my own too Jackie, I often travel alone it's a great way of meeting new people.

jordan -
jcorr. I wonder if we are sharing as when i booked they said I might have to share, not that i mind, A friend got me a guide book for my birthday it sounds great, cant wait. jackie

Hi Jackie I have elected to -
Hi Jackie I have elected to share, as I usually do - if you haven't requested and paid for single supplement then Exodus will assume you are happy to share and room allocations will be given on arrival at the destination. On previous trips there have usually been quite a few single people sharing.

Jordan for Christmas -

Hi Jackie & Wendy,

I'm coming to this trip on my own too - great to hear that it's not all couples! Look forward to meeting you.

Satu

Welcome -

Hi Satu - great to have you on board, looks like you've been on some interesting trips too, look forward to meeting you.

hi Satu -

jcorr  Looking at where you have been I take it you are fit! I am overweight and would like to be fit enough to climb up the treasury so fingers crossed.

As we are away Xmas I did think there would be single people, my only worry at mo is what to pack as the weather can change.

Not long to go now. Jackie

Hi again,I've done two -

Hi again,

I've done two cycling trips before Nicaragua/Costa Rica/Panama & Cuba - both were great. Hoping Jordan will be at least as good.

I'm generally pretty fit but have been battling with a shoulder injury for the past three months so haven't been on my bike for ages...

Key to packing is layers - I've been told it'll be cold in the mornings and at night and pretty warm during the day.

Hello to all -

Hi everyone,

I will be on this trip too although I happen to be one of those couples that you so frequently get on these trips.  My partner and I have done a couple of Exodus trips and met some amazing people. I am so excited Jordan.

 Ciara

Hello everybody -
Hi everyone.  Like Ciara, I'm one of 'those couples'! This will be the second Exodus trip I've been on and if it is half as good as the last it will be fantastic.  I'm usually pretty active but I've been off the bike since August recovering from surgery so now a stone heavier and lacking in fitness so Jordan should be interesting but great fun. Christmas away is so different and much more peaceful. I can't wait.  Richard

I have to say this will be -

I have to say this will be the first time I have been away from my family for Christmas so I'm not sure what to expect but I'm sure we can all make our own fun.

In fitness terms both my partner and I play rugby but the low leagues on a Sunday sort of rugby so fitness is moderate for both of us and most of the time we run on will power or try to hide at the bottom of a ruck.

Hi, this is my first time -
Hi, this is my first time with Exodus, first time away alone, first time in Jordan, first cycling trip too. I suspect that I am older than most of you although not giving anything away! Am in pretty good shape thanks to the gym, it remains to be seen if that is good enough for this kind of trip..... Have always wanted to go away for Christmas, it's the first time that I won't start Christmas day wrestling with a turkey. Satu thanks for the packing advice, I was wondering about that. Anyway, looking forward to meeting everyone at the airport, not long to go now :)).  Sarah

Hi, Sarah -

jcorr its my first time with Exodus but not first time on my own, great you can do what you want with freedom, speak and make friends if you want, or not! I have been away for Christmas before loved it. And as for the oldest I doubt it I am no spring chicken but think I am ! i am sure we are all going to have a great time, I have been told alcohol is very expensive so i am going to get some at duty free on the way. look forward to meeting you. Quick tip if anyone is interested I have already booked train ticket to Heathrow its much cheaper by underground. Jackie

Ciarra - I was away in India -

Ciarra - I was away in India last Christmas and it was different but so nice and relaxed. I'm hoping that Christmas in the desert will be similar, and being in the Holy Land will be even more relevant - assuming that the current troubles don't escalate.

Tilly - Age doesn't matter - first time I went away with Exodus (up Kilimanjaro) I was the oldest by about 25 years and we had a great time. Last year (not with Exodus that time) I was one of the younger ones and we still had a great time!

Christmas in India too.. -

I was in India last Christmas too, up in the North doing the tiger safari with Exodus, some very chilly early mornings, thank goodness we saw a tiger or two! hope you were somewhere warmer, Richard...It's great being away from all the hype of Christmas - so much more fun being in Petra on Christmas day while everyone else is battling with the turkey and the relatives - I'm sure we'll have a ball!

Hi Wendy.  Fortunately I -
Hi Wendy.  Fortunately I was right down in the south and the weather was perfect.  Warm or even hot during the days and cool at night.  Christmas eve round a big bonfire was great but Christams Day night on a mountain side in top quality tents was brilliant. I suspect that Christmas in the desert will be even better (if a little colder).  Can't wait.

Hi -

Dear all,

This is my first trip with Exodus and am travelling on my own so very apprehensive but looking forward to it.

jcorr  Hi Jaymi, As you can see there are several of us on our own, once you have been away on your own you will realise its great. I am getting really excited not long to go, i am sure all my work mates are fed up with keep going on about it.

I was really im pressed with Exodus I contacted them about a seat on the plane, they replied with a seat number very quick. Look forward to meeting everyone soon.

Newbie questions -
Can anyone advise on how much currency to take? Also is it better to take a suitcase or a rucksack? And yes Lindsay I am going from Heathrow, I assume it's the same flight.... Sarah

jcorr  Just a thought what terminal do we go from anyone? Jackie

I think it is terminal 3 at -

I think it is terminal 3 at Heathrow.

On the currency front, have you got Jordanian currency already?  I read the notes and assumed that, like India, you had to get your currency changed in the country so I was planning to take pounds and US dollars.  Have I misunderstood?  Richard

terminal and currency -
I thought so too Richard so I'd planned to take sterling cash plus card back up. Agree Terminal 3 and I'd guess both trips are on the same flight (the cycling and non-cycling holidays).

Hi Is anyone else on the -

Hi

Is anyone else on the non-cycling trip to Jordan? I'm getting some currency changed before leaving London but will also take £ & credir card.

Jaymi

Non-cycling trip - AXW -
