Sorry if there is already a post going for this, I had a good look and couldn't find one, but there are lots on here, so I could have missed it. Anyway, was just interested to find out who else was going on the Base camp trip, leaving london 28th October. Would be great to get to know a few of you (even if just over the forum) before we go.
Not long now, I'm really looking forward to it, I hope you are too.
This is all new to me too, but should be really good fun, it is coming around so quickly! Are you going to be flying from Heathrow, or being from Scotland do you take a different flight?
I will be joining you at Heathrow - should also arrive mid to late afternoon on flight from Aberdeen.
Yep, signed up as well. But think am on different flight to the rest of the London folk. Via Bahrain I think. Couldnt come soon enough. Ian, Ireland.
Alex and Janice, we'll have to make a plan nearer the time, so that we can all meet up at Heathrow, and Ian, I guess we will see you in Kathmandu. If anyone has any hints and tips re what to take, please feel free to share them, as I know I am going to be in a packing dilema nearer the time. People have recomended wet wipes to me, and lots of them...
I'm beginning to give a thought to packing - a mission in itself gettin that right ;-) I should be in Heathrow (if all goes to plan) Terminal 1 just after 2pm. Think we depart for Nepal from Terminal 4?? So look forward to catchin up with all of you somewhere in Heathrow in a couple of weeks!
I can't believe how quickly it is coming around! I am also starting to think about what I need to pack and any last minute shopping that I need to do. I have emailed someone I know that did the same trek this time last year to get any hints and tips on what to take, I will let you know of any recomendations that he makes.
Just wondered what time people are getting to Heathrow on Friday and whether anyone wanted to meet up there? I work very near Heathrow so will be coming straight from work, which will be 5.30 unless everyone else is getting there earlier, in which case I will see if I can leave work earlier.
Packing tips that I have had are to take wet wipes and plenty of them for washing, toilet etc, to take snacks as apparently choc can be £4 per bar up the mountain. Not sure if everyone has read the bit about 2 x passport photos? I had missed that bit at first, so thought it was worth mentioning just in case anyone else had missed it, think this is for visa's.
Looking forward to meeting you all on Friday.
