I'm going too. Just catching up on Michael Palin's Himilaya on seesaw for inspiration.

Hi, good to hear from you -

Hi, good to hear from you both! Seem to be spending a lot of time on kit lists...

Did you take out the Exodus insurance? Our insurer will cover us for mountain rescue but limits liability if we can't call them before arranging it. Exodus insurers say they actually summon the rescuers. Still means we have to be able to contact them from wherever we are. They say the guides have satellite phones but still a worry!

Do you plan to take diamox as a precaution against AMS? Have you trekked at altitude before?

Two weeks to go - off for some practice!

Hi. Haven't taken out Exodus -

Hi. Haven't taken out Exodus insurance but good point...will check with our insurer.

We went up Kili last year but that was our first major trekking experience. Husband used diamox above c4000m. He thinks it may have helped!

Hi there, I am joining this -

Hi there,

I am joining this trip too, nice to hear from you all. It is not long now!:)

Stars -

Have you noticed that we only have one gold star between the 6 of us - do we get more stars on completion and do stars mean prizes?

We tried to get a photo to load but the technology beat us - fortunately walking's more straightforward...

Still worrying about the insurance - we're not getting straight answers from the brokers - how do you get pre-authorisation when comms are dubiouss and in an emergency?

Looking forward to meeting you all.

Hi From Jason -

Hi All,

Sorry I did`nt see this page started or I would have written sooner. This will be my 3rd trip to Nepal, and 3rd trip with Exodus. I have taken out Exodus insurance, then I know I am covered for everything. I have been rescuded off Everest Base Camp Trek by helicopter, but that was with another company (Explore)

On countdown now.

Hmm yes, I don't know why I'm the only one with a gold star, but I'm sure I must deserve it...

So soes the Rum Doodles restaurant serve drinks by the same name. I like the idea of drinking a few rum doodles at the Rum Doodle.

Rum Doodles & Stars -

Serious last minute packing trantums here; chocolate emergency rations being ditched (it was a close call between the chocolate or Penny.....).

Looking forward to Rum Doodles under and / or with the stars!
