I have been told that at this time of year, if we use good preventative measures - covering up at night and insect repellant - then we don't necessarily need to take malaria tablets, and certainly not for the whole trip. Is this too much of a risk?
For the best information check out www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk where you can compare your trip route to the malaria risk map. If visiting high risk areas you should always take malaria tablets whatever the season. Definitely visit your GP or local travel clinic for detailed advice.
