Hello we are going! Myself and my son. We have had all the jabs just wondered are you all going to have the malaria tablets? I've been advised that although normally not needed for the area we will be visiting, it might be necessary due to the fact it will be the rainy season.

No we are not but we are taking anti bug stuff and things you plug in at night. The Visa stuff was more complicated if you are going with just one parent.

I'm glad I'm not the only one deciding against malaria tablets.  Pondered it but malarone didn't agree with me last time so I've decided against it. Seemed to have sorted the visas ok - well, I sent off what I thought and our passports have been returned with what looks like the right thing....  Not organised our jabs yet though although it's on my priority list.  What has everyone gone for?

I have started thinking about what to take as I notoriously overpack (and am always last minute) but trying to break the habit this time.

Also, Bailey wanted to know if I could find out the ages of any of the children going - he's 14.

As to  JABS  I had all 5 that are free on the NHS which was fun . Abby (14) didn't need as many as she was up to date on some. You should get them done asap it is supposed to be 3 months before you go !  Don't forget a waterproof, camera, toothbrush...... that's about it !!!!!

Oh.  I'd better get straight onto sorting things asap!  We're up-to-date on some as we had a few done last year but don't remember having had Hep A which I think we need.

How's the packing going?  Anyone sorted yet?  I'm at the list and digging things out stage (which is pretty good going for me).  Feel like it's a lot closer now I'm beginning to sort things.

Just putting things on piles. Had to bribe Abby to come with ticket to Beautyful Daze and lots of new unsuitable clothes ! Roll on Sunday.

Poor Abby has TONSILLITIS and is really ill!!  we might not now be going unless the doctor says she can. On loads of anitbiotics pennicillin poor poor thing. And I'm gutted too. Will make a decision tomorrow. 

That's not the sort of thing you want to be happening in the run up to going away.  What a shame.  Fingers crossed that she starts to pick up - 48hrs can make a huge difference on antibiotics.
