Hi dave i know its late but things have been hectic of late, anyway on this forum at last. I am looking forward to this trip as i have been told it's something special. Spoken to a chap who went two years ago and had a great time, everything was top draw so i hope this trip will be just as rewarding. Simon

Hi Simon, I was beginning to think no one else was going! I expect you are going on the same flight - BA0065 Tue 19 October 2010, 10:20? Do you have an early start or are you staying local to Heathrow the previous night? I've got an hotel parking deal so I'm staying close to T5. Have you made all the decisions about which kit to take and which can you really afford to leave? Speak to you soon, Dave

Hi Dave. Now that is something I'm having trouble with what kit to take and what to leave behind. I will take my 100-400 lens and possibly my wide angle. Not sure about my 17-85 and I will ditch my flash gun I doubt I will need that ( famous last words ). I am on duty from now until Monday so it's late evenings for me to get it all packed. Will charge all my batteries on Monday and looking to be at T5 for about 07-30 on Tuesday. Simon

I hate leaving stuff behind and always regret it so I'll probably bring all of it! I think there will be a dip in the grid on Monday when we all start charging batteries! Dave

I know what your saying but these camera bags get heavy. So I am still thinking. I only have a 40 min journey to heathrow as Iive in Surrey. Dave I think I will ditch the flash but keep the rest. Let's hope some of the others get on the forum before we go Simon

Hi Dave from Devon! Greetings from another Devonian (Dartmouth) but now living in the Chew Valley near Bristol. have you managed to find the trip notes? The link I was sent takes me to the Forum page with your message. Do you think we will be able to charge batteries there as I only have 2 for my Canon 7D? Looking forward to meeting you and others on the 19th.

Hi Jill, Sadly my trip was two years ago but I'm available for advice!  Yes, you will have the facility for charging batteries but everyone will want to charge batteries so take whatever you can.  I bought compatible batteries from 7dayshop.com for £11 each and they are excellent and bigger capacity as well.  You are going to have a brilliant time and I wish I was going again!  There was no quibble with weight for your luggage - it is just down to what you can carry!  I'm happy to mail you if you want or if you want to chat let me know and we can arrange.

Many thanks for your reply - sorry that I didn't notice you had already been!  I will get another battery (or two!) I have now got all the trip notes so will have a read of those and if there is anything I'm not sure about, I'll contact you.
