Hello to you in Scotland! Do ring me or e.mail - details in my message of 12th Jan and say who you are!! Maria and I have met for lunch and got to know each other just a little and we discussed our fitness and our trekking gear! Both useful and it was also really nice to meet someone else going.
Do get back to me and tell us who you are and we can chat about where to meet at Heathrow on 24th. Not long now!
Hi Felicity it would be good to meet before the flight. I am 61 and live in the Scottish Borders. This will be my first trip to this part of the world, although I have wanted to visit Bhutan for many years! I am also excited about seeing Kathmandu and hope we will have time there to explore. I will try to phone or email about meeting up at Heathrow. I think my flight from Edinburgh gets in quite early. My phone number is 07742520690.
Wow Maria you are organised! Sarah from Singapore here (Felicity I replied to your blog post at Xmas). Just off to buy my last bits of kit then I'm flying to Kathmandu (only 5 hours from here) Friday. My only bit of training will be not drinking too much this weekend :-) but I am super excited about visiting Bhutan! Been fun explaining to my work colleagues where exactly Bhutan is.....
Looking forward to meeting you all at the hotel. Safe travels from the rainy UK!
Sarah - nice to hear from you again and sorry I didn't get round to replying! Have a good journey there and we'll expect you to know where all the best cafes and places are by the time we arrive! Well done on the packing, Maria! I'm going to have a trial run today~! I'm packing the Exodus bag in my usual case, just to be used for the trek. Shall we three (Jan, you and I) meet at T4 at the check in desks at 5.45 on 24th and attempt to get seats together? I've read all the comments on the Pay-for Lounges and they don't look brilliant.
One week to go...... don't get any injuries before then ..... stay away from people with bugs .......(difficult with 10 grandchildren).........
......Elizabeth Burt from Exodus, recommends £2-3 per day per person tip for the main leader..... How much money are you three taking in cash bearing in mind we have to carry it round with us and which currencies? Felicity
Hi, I'm Alison and am looking forward to meeting most of you at Heathrow - if I can spot likely Exodus clients. I was just planning to take the Exodus bag, but may review that if you guys are being more organised - it's always nice to have some wheels.
Final training walk this Sunday - hope it doesn't rain too much.
Have got $700 in cash. Dollars seem to be accepted everywhere but if not I'll just pretend to be American and completely unaware that other currencies exist!
So good you've got in touch! I put my first message up twelve weeks ago and until Maria got in touch, thought I must be the only one going on the holiday!! See you at T4! I quite agree about having 'wheels' - I can't cope with carrying a heavy bag on my shoulder. I'm thinking I'll take a mixture of $ and Euros approx £300 worth. See you in a week. Felicity
I need the wheels with all the equipment, and I will put the exodus bag in there to be used on the trek. Am taking around $500. Yes Felicity, we should meet and check in together - what time is the flight?
Elizabeth Burt reminded me today that we need two passport type photos for the Nepal visa - which we line-up for at Kathmandu airport ... I had forgotten but I'm sure you had all read your instructions more carefully ...........! Felicity
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. Rather snowy here so hope no problems with transport for anyone. Jan
