Bike shorts for MOC?
Shorts - 19th Jul 2011 - 11:59am
Him8!
Vic here-you really are going to need some padding!!1
Some long days. You can buy cycling undershorts that are cotton but padded-more like pants to wear under ordinary sports shorts
Bring a big jar of VASELINE too!
Hope that helps

Thanks for the recommendation. It would seem that the majority of people I am quizzing are saying the same thing. So, I'm off to get myself some 'padding' (as if I don't have enough on my behind!)

MOC padding - 24th Aug 2011 - 12:36am
I did MOC with no fancy padded shorts, as did the majority of my group. I survived, but have since become an avid fan of good quality padded shorts and Assos cream. I will be so equipped on my next trip. Have fun!
Bike Type - 4th Apr 2013 - 5:32pm
Can anyone tell me what bike type was used as a hire bike .... I'm interested to know if it was a twist grip change for gears or not as we are about to buy some bikes for training. Thank you

Will be biking during hot, rainy season (Thailand, Cambodia & Vietnam - August 2011) and starting to reconsider my decision not to bring bike shorts. Was only going to use gel seat. I don't do well with synthetic fibres in this type of climate. But reading about 'saddle sores' I'm wondering if I should wear bike shorts. Any thoughts, experiences to share?
