I've not used this facility before, even though this will be our fifth trip with Exodus, but it seems like a good idea. So. Who else is out there travelling on 26 September?
Anybody got any handy tips worth knowing about before we set off?
We're really looking forward to this trip; we've found each of our previous Exodus expeditions to be really good, and all quite different (which is probably a good thing!!)
Look forward to hearing from (somebody?!)
Andy & Karen
Hi, I tried using this thing last year for our first Exodus trip but got no replies, so it's good to see someone else from our trip on here this time! We're travelling on 26 September as well, along with a friend we met on the Nile Cruise trip last year.
Out of interest, where have you been on your previous Exodus trips? Egypt last year was our first so we're hooked and are back for more. I can see the friendly but aggressive souvenir haggling being much the same in Morocco as Egypt, so in terms of tips I'd say we all need to stick together and haggle (my efforts last year were fairly woeful!). Only other tip might be not to overdo it on packing 'covering up' clothes. Obviously places of worship are an exception but we all had far too many long sleeves, trousers and skirts for the heat. There was a lot more leeway than what some of the guidebooks said to pack.
It looks a really good value and highly varied trip and we're really looking forward to it, especially camping out and seeing the stars and sunrise in the desert. Nice to hear from someone else who's going.

Nice to meet you (in a cyber way, at least!).
This will be our 5th Exodus trip. We began with a walking holiday on Mallorca in 2005; then to India in 2006 to see the tigers (successfully!); then in 2007 to Thailand; 2008 saw us on the Gorillas trip (Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya - fabulous) and now this! We really want to go to see the Orangutan in Borneo, but we need a bit more time to save up for that one!
Each of the trips has been great, we've really enjoyed everyone. Not a single disappointment. We hope that the locals will not be as "in your face" as they were in Egypt - we really did not enjoy that aspect of the visit.
Well, it'll be interesting to see if anyone else joins the conversation. Looking forward to meeting you properly and to our great adventure!
Wow, those trips sound great. Would like to do some of those - there's just never enough time to get everywhere!
'In your face' about covers it with some of those Egyptian traders, doesn't it! Cairo especially was exhausting for that, traders dangling necklaces in our faces whilst we sat having a drink in a cafe, and we didn't even stop to look because of the hard sell. Aswan was a bit more relaxed, with friendlier banter, so I hope Morocco's a bit more like that. I think it'll vary from place to place. Still reading all about the country at the moment. So many good bits to look forward to.
Yes, hopefully someone else is out there and will join in on here. It'd be good to talk to some others that'll be going as well. Last year was such a great experience for the people we met, as well as the places. It was the hardest holiday to get over so far. Two weeks of struggling to get back to reality and moping at work!
This is my first time with Exodus and my first adventure by myself. So it's great to hear from fellow travellers with positive feedback about previous trips with Exodus. Looking forward to meeting you all in September.
Good to hear from another person on the trip. Yep, the one Exodus trip we've done was great. Well organised, great guide, terrific people. This one should be a good 'un as well. We're really looking forward to meeting another new bunch of travellers. What made you go for this one for your first Exodus then? It was the variety that did it for us. So many potential highlights - camping out in desert, camel trekking, mountains, coast, markets, bustling cities etc. Can't wait!
Good to see another of our fellow travellers for the forthcoming Morocco Adventure joining the 'chat'. As you will see further back up in the conversation thread, this will be our fifth trip with Exodus, which should be a clue to the fact that we find them pretty good!
Hello all! I shall be joining you all along with my good friends Rich & Shelley. We all met last year on the Nile Cruise trip and had such a fun time that we have all kept in touch. This is trip 6 for with Exodus and do not have a bad word against them.
Really looking forward to this trip with all the varieties it has to offer.
Look forward to seeing you all at the airport and the fun of the holiday group spotting!
Hi Anton. Good to hear from you! Yes, spotting fellow Exodus travellers is a fun way to pass the time at the airport whilst waiting for the flight! I guess we'll all have to arrange some sort of code so we know in advance who we are - a red carnation and copy of the Times or some such!
i chose this trip for my first with Exodus for the sheer diversity. Morocco has been one of the places i fancied going to for a long time. with this trip i will get to see almost everything morocco has to offer from desert to mountains, vibrant markets to ancient ruins. Plus sleeping out in a Bedouin camp is a must. Since this is my 1st trip any suggestions on what or not to take? never flown from Heathrow so any ideas for parking, trains etc would be much appreciated
...yeah, it does look such a great mix. I love the fact it starts in nice hotel then gets more rustic, finishing up back at hotel to relax (hopefully with pool). Can't do sitting-on-a-beach-for-two-weeks holidays. Just have to be up and about seeing things!
Where are you coming from to get to Heathrow, then? I have intense paranoia about travelling to airports on the day of the flight. Sods law there'd be a massive mash up on a motorway if we did. With it being a bit of a journey for us to get to the airport (from Notts) we always stop over the night before when travelling from Heathrow. Bit of time to have a meal and ease into the holiday n all that. Think I worked out Heathrow parking was something like £85 to leave car there, so we'll do our usual National Express round trip to Heathrow for about the same price, even though flight is an evening one the next day.
Bring some padded underpants for the camel ride! ;) Seriously, though, little bottle of antibacterial handwash was great in Egypt. Money etc was filthy, so was good to have to hand. Morocco not necessarily gonna be the same, but anything to help stave off the squits on that continent is good! Also rehydration salts, mosquito repellent. Will see what guidebooks say as well.
...although I've started the holiday countdown waaaaay too far out. Everyone looking forward to it as much as me? Anyone else out there going on this trip? (apart from you guys)
I'm also going to be joining this trip on my own, so am looking forward to meeting everyone! This will be my first Exodus trip although I did a similar small group holiday to Thailand a few years ago and loved it.
I've wanted to go to Morocco for ages and this trip seems to pack in everything you might possibly want to see :) Am keeping fingers crossed for a great two weeks...
Hello one and all. I posted a message not too long ago to introduce ourselves but such as the computer wizard I am its nowhere to be found.
Nevertheless here we are, Monique and Stuart. This will be our third trip with Exodus and the previous ones have been marvellous. There is no lying about, it's a full schedule with so much to do. We just love it. As Andy and Karen say it is all quite different- but very exciting. Look forward to meeting everyone and especially having a good experience.
Monique and Stuart.
Have just flicked over the calendar and there it is, all shiny and spangling at the end of the month. We're almost there! Hello Rachel, Monique and Stuart. Nice to hear from you too. I've set up an auto 'email me when someone adds a message to this forum' thing, but don't seem to be getting them. I popped back here on the off chance and there were a few new messages, so hi to you all. Soooo looking forward to it.
I can't believe that we are now in the final stretch! Hello to all the new people, hope your prepared for all the fun, especially if this is your first Exodus trip. Cant believe that this is my 6th Exodus trip, oh how time flies!
Can we start getting excited now?
Anton- Not until I lock my office next week!!!!!!!!!
Only joking. Of course you can get excited. That's what holidays are for. From the moment we book, no look through catalogues, we start to look forward, then talk about things to do,get, buy or borrow, until we get to this point and are raring to go.
Look forward to meeting you and everyone else and having a wonderful time. Monique & Stuart
